Kirkwoods Par Five 16th hole is one of the longest frisbee golf holes youll ever play!
Located on the mountainside near the Timber Creek base area, Kirkwood Frisbee golf course has its share of unique features. If you ask anyone about Kirkwood’s Disc Wood Frisbee golf course they will likely mention the unforgettable 16th hole. The par-5 hole is one of the longest in California, and has an incredible 1,200 feet! You are going to need quite an arm to make par on that course! It seems like everyone here is saying disc golf rules! You’ve gotta get out here to see all the fun because its a great course.
The disc golf course is is popular with both locals and visitors. Its not unusual to find Frisbee golfers from the Bay Area tossing discs at the course. Likewise, Frisbee golf fans from Carson Valley are also known to visit Disc Wood. What many newcomers to Disc Wood will notice on their first play through is the disc golf course’s elevation. Kirkwood Mountain resort is at 7,800 feet above sea level, and many of the holes are mountainous. Many of the Disc Wood holes are uphill and long for Frisbee golf courses. The uphill can be cause particular trouble when it comes time to putt, because disc golfers are attempting to relax and focus on the putt but their quickly beating heart can make that difficult. This is one quirk of the disc golf course that regulars have had to master as they attempt to master the course. You can find more about the course at Kirkwood at PDGA.
