Disc Golf

One of the most exciting sports gaining attention right now is disc golf, as you probably know a mix between golf and Frisbee. While many, including this site, call it Frisbee golf, because you use a disc and not a Frisbee, the correct term is disc golf. Unfortunately I learned of the “real name” after I had bought the domain. But while some of the most hardcore disc golfers out there might say something if you call Frisbee golf, in reality the terms are interchangeable. The game is called disc golf, Frisbee golf and even “frolf” (Frisbee and golf), but whatever you call it the fun is the same! While the sport of disc golf has been around for decades, it seems like in recent years the sport has been growing exponentially, and every year thousands of disc golf competitions and tournament take place all over the US. Some of the best disc golfers even go on a disc golf tour, hitting up the biggest disc golf tournaments in the country. By the way if you organize or know about a disc golf tournament please me mail me at info at frisbeegolfdisc.com and let me know about it. While its not up yet I’m hoping to have all of the biggest disc golf tournaments listed on the site soon. And by the way, I would also really appreciate it if you forwarded this site to friends and you can also drop me a comment or email me about what you think the site is missing or other stuff you want to see.

Disc golf is played in a way very similar to golf, whereas instead of clubs and a golf ball you use disc gold discs. There are nine and 18-hole disc golf courses, and each hole has par. The idea is to get your disc in the “hole” in as few throws as possible. Instead of a hole however there is a basket, basically a pole with a basket, with chains above the basket so that when the disc is thrown at it the disc falls in the basket. Just like golf there are is a disc golf driver, that you use for long distances, discs for mid-range shots, like irons, and even putters used for short distance. You can even find disc Frisbee golf discs that tilt to the left or the right. Check out the Frisbee golf store to find a disc golf set you want. At first you just need to feel your way through, and through trial and error you can find out the best way to throw a Frisbee. I want to continue to build on this site to include disc throwing tutorials, so if you find anything that works please feel free to let me know, again at info at frisbeegolfdisc.com. Disc golf is a great sport and it is really a fun way to get outside. The people who play disc golf are always friendly, and there’s not that intensity you often get with other sports.
